Batiste Dry Shampoo: Dark & Deep Brown

Hello there!

So I hate washing my hair! I know I’m not the only one out there who hates it. It’s such a chore for short or long hair. That’s why I absolutely love the Batiste Dry Shampoo: A Hint of Colour Dark & Deep Brown and wanted to share it with you guys. Now this specific one will work best for my dark haired people out there, but don’t worry, they have one specifically for blondes too! There’s actually quite a variety from different colors to different scents, and there’s also their original dry shampoo.

I usually skip a day because my hair gets oily fast. Sometimes I skip two because I’m just too lazy to be bothered with it (don’t judge me). All you need to do is shake that can, and then spray it on those greasy roots! Make sure you separate each section, and I would not spray it on the actual part you’re parting your hair on. Especially with this dark one, because it does have stain, that’s why it’s meant for dark hair. Make sure you spray it far away, like you would hair spray, the instructions say spray about 30 cm away from the hair, and I agree with it. Spraying it too close doesn’t spread it evenly. After you spray it, let it settle for a couple minutes, after all, it’s basically power. Then, shake your hair out and you’ll have voluminous, clean-looking hair! No one has to know what it really is 🙂

The description on the back says it will “remove any excess grease. Hair feels gorgeously clean and fresh with added body and texture”. It does soak up all the grease/oil, and it looks like it’s clean. But, to be honest it doesn’t feel “gorgeously clean”. It feels kind of…rough. But it looks damn good and clean! Also, it really does give great volume! Usually on my second day hair, I’ll curl it first, because the natural oils helps it hold a curl slightly more, and after I’ll spray the dry shampoo. It helps it hold better, and the texture is amazing!

Before: My third day hair! Gross, I know, but I had to let you guys see how it soaks up the oil!

The dry shampoo sprays a tinted powder, giving your hair this color. After it settles, shake it out.

After: Look at the difference! Definitely does it’s job!

I’ve only seen it at ULTA and Cvs. It’s 8.99 at ULTA. Maybe more than you would usually pay for say, a hairspray, but you really don’t use a lot of the product, so it actually lasts quite a long time. It has 6.73 fl. oz. One usually lasts me about two month, which isn’t bad at all! I’ve tried a lot of dry shampoos, like Pssst, Tresemme, and Not Your Mother’s Dry Shampoo, and none of them really worked for me. I think it’s because they were all the regular white spray, and it just made my hair look…like a faded black. There are a couple of downsides to the Batiste one though. First of all, it does have a scent, but I deal with it. It’s basically like the scent of hairspray, you just gotta live with it. Another thing about it is that, if you don’t give it time to settle onto your hair, when you touch it, the dark color might go on your hands, but you can wash it off. So let it settle! One last thing that I find annoying about it, is that after you use it, you need to clean the little part that the product comes out of. Because the product is a dark powder, it stains the white nozzle thingy and just looks gross.

So yes, it does have some downsides, but it’s the best one I’ve tried so far, and it does the job. So when you’re feeling like you don’t want to wash your hair but it looks greasy/oily, definitely give this a go! Let me know if you tried it!

Macadamia Natural Oil: Deep Repair Hair Masque

Hello there!

Today, I wanted to share one of my favorite hair products. It’s the Macadamia Natural Oil: Deep Repair Hair Masque. I’ve been using it for about a year now and it’s definitely made a difference. Before, I wasn’t too protective over my hair…I would use heat on it, without any heat protectant, (sometimes straighten and curl in one day!), comb it while it was wet, and other damaging things. Thinking back on it, I’m surprised I have any at all. All of my bad habits made my hair unmanageable, dry, and gave me lots of split ends. I decided to fix it and I went to ULTA, and saw the Macadamia hair masque. Not going to lie guys, the only reason I picked it up was because there was a little trial-sized packet for about $4.00..Hehe. I followed the instructions, which was to apply it to wet hair and wait about seven minutes, then wash it out. I remember feeling my hair and being surprised, because it was much softer than before. I recommend leaving it on for about fifteen minutes, because it has more of an effect. It does have a scent, but I love it! I managed to make the trial packet last three weeks, because I only put it on the bottom half of my hair, and it made my hair quite soft and shiny. I’ve been a loyal to it ever since.

It’s creamy and quite thick. It also has a strong scent, which does stay in your hair, but only for a couple of hours. I recommend only putting it on the ends of your hair, maybe the middle if you want. If you put it on the top of your head, just like any conditioner, it’ll make your roots oily. The packaging is different, which I like. It’s just kind of this big tub of the product. I like it because when I’m ready, I’ll just dip my fingers and take as much as I need. They have it packaged in a tube if you prefer that, but the tube only holds 3.3 oz, compared to the tub, which is 8.5 oz.

The first tub of it I bought was at ULTA for $36, I know, that’s too expensive! That one lasted me about five months though, so at least it wasn’t a waste. One day I was in Tj Maxx, and guess what I found? That’s right, the hair masque, but it was only $25! You guys have no idea how excited I was when I saw that! Sure, $25 isn’t cheap either, but it sure beats $36! Now my hair is nice and healthy, and I use this to pamper it after I use heat on it!

Overall, I absolutely love this product! It’s one of my regulars! Let me know if you tried it!

Review on Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream

Hello there beautiful people!
Today I wanted to share a product that has helped my skin for months. I’ve been using it for about half a year and absolutely love it! The Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream has become an important part of my skin care routine, both day and night! Its reminds me a lot of the Clinique Moisture Surge moisturizer, but it won’t make you feel guilty after buying it. It’s extremely affordable, only $6. 40 at Target.

It comes in a small jar, which has 1.7 oz. One usually lasts me about two months, but remember, I use it every morning and night. In the morning, I always put it on after I get out the shower. It keeps the moisture in and makes my skin nice and smooth, so that I can apply my makeup without it looking cakey. I have oily skin and I’m usually nervous about moisturizers because many break me out. But this one doesn’t!

It looks aqua/light green and I think that the jar is adorable and if you’re traveling, easy to pack.  I love the texture it has so much! Its cool to your touch and isn’t sticky or anything. It just absorbs into your face and makes you feel extremely refreshed (hence the name)! At night, there are only two things I always put on my face. Vaseline and the Garnier  moisturizer. Since I’ve been using this, I noticed the look of my skin looks more full and bright, before it looked quite dull.

But if you are sensitive to smells, this does have a scent to it. It’s kind of like aloe vera, but it goes away after a couple minutes on your face.

Well that’s all, I hope you guys enjoyed! Let me know if you tried it!

Bye guys!

Review: Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation

I absolutely love this foundation! I’m extremely skeptical about what I use on my face because in middle school,  I looked like a pepperoni pizza. I used to wear foundations that would break me out even more, and eventually I just stopped with makeup. But a couple months ago, I wanted to try some again. I did a lot of research and read/watched tons of reviews. That’s how I heard of the Tarte foundation.

My skin is oily/combination and this works perfectly with it! I’ve been using it for about five months and it’s been great. It has a great thick texture and makes your face look matte. It’s great for people with oily skin because it’s oil-free! I just use my fingers and dot some of it onto my face, and then I use a brush to blend it out. My color is medium honey, and it completely matches me. The range of colors this foundation has is quite impressive, it features 16 different shades!

Tarte Amazoniam Clay Foundation Full Coverage in Medium Sand

Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation Full Coverage in Medium Honey

The foundation has SPF 15 and is supposed to last 12 hours. I’ve used it without a primer and it’s lasted me about my entire day, which is about 12 hours. I’m pretty lazy, so I never do touch-ups, add a finishing product, or anything like that.

Some ingredients that they used in this are mineral pigments, vitamin E, sodium hyaluronate, and obviously Amazonian clay. The mineral pigments don’t have any oils or chemical ingredients, which make them better for your skin. Vitamin E has many benefits, one being that it protects your skin from UV radicals. The sodium hyaluronate can penetrate your skin  and retain water, which helps skin looks more full or plump. The Amazonian clay is known for giving skin a smooth and even look. Of course there’s more ingredients, but these are the ones that the box shows as “skinvigorating ingredients”.

Overall, I absolutely love this foundation! Goes on well, stays on for a long time, doesn’t break me out, and the color is perfect. There is only a slight downside. It is a higher end foundation, so it’s expensive. I bought mine at Sephora for $38. It may not seem like a lot to you, but to me, as a college student, I thought it was expensive. But, it does what it says it’s supposed to do, and it’s been about 5 months, and I still have a lot of it. Definitely worth the money and I will be buying again!

If you tried it, let me know if you like it or not! Also, feel free to checkout my video down below on it!

Thanks for reading, bye!

Review on Facial Clay Mask: Avocado and Oatmeal

Hello beautiful people!

So I wanted to share one of my favorite skincare products. It’s the Facial Clay Mask in Avocado and Oatmeal by the Freeman Feeling Beautiful company. I love this stuff! It’s super simple to put on and equally as easy to take off. It can come in a huge tube, which has 6 fl. oz, or a small trial sized packed which has .5 fl. oz.  Both women and men can definetly get good use out of this!

I like to use this whenever my skin is feeling greasy/oily, or when I have a couple pimples, (gross I know, would you prefer zits?),  randomly. This always helps my skin. It makes it soft and I’ve noticed that the bumps go down a little, which I absolutely love.

It comes out as this light blue/green color and feels like a slightly thick lotion. Don’t worry, it’s not one of those types of masks that just keeps dripping when you put it on. The texture is amazing and it sticks to your face perfectly. You can easily tell when it’s time to take it off because, like all masks, it gets super hard. I usually leave it on for about 20 minutes of more, mostly because I kind of forget to take it off…hehe.

Avocado and Oatmeal Mask

Well, that’s all on that! If you tried it, let me know! Also, I did a tutorial/quick review video on it, so if you want to see what it looks like, take a look below! Thanks a lot for reading! Bye!

Hello there!

This is my first blog post! Eep! I guess I should probably tell you a little about myself..Well, my name’s Amanda and I’m 19 and in college as a junior. I know, I must be super smart…just kidding. I just got lucky. I’m an Indo-Guyanese American, which is basically an Indian person who has roots in Guyana, which is in South America, and I was born here in America. I know, slightly confusing. I have a beautiful 15 year-old Western Painted Turtle, named Sammy. I also recently became obsessed with the show The 100!

I’m pretty excited because I was looking for someplace to share all of the random thoughts and ideas I have. I don’t really have a set topic, mostly whatever just pops into my head, I’ll go with it. That being said, I’ll probably do a lot of beauty type of things, such as makeup reviews or diy skincare things. But I’ll also throw in a lot of random stuff that have my attention at the time. Things like TV show reactions (The 100, The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, etc.), or just random thoughts on life and stuff. I also have a YouTube channel called AmandaSushma, so check it out! I only have two videos right now..don’t judge.

Well, I guess that’s all for now! Bye!
