Vasanti Cosmetics: First Impressions

Hello everyone!

I’ve been really interested in supporting smaller makeup companies, and I came across Vasanti Cosmetics. This is a South-Asian owned brand, based in Canada. I love supporting my fellow brown girls, and I was excited to see what their products were like. Let me just say, they did not disappoint. Without further ado, here are my first impressions:

Gel Matte Lipstick – Time After Time Collection – Shade: Make Time

The formula of this is so smooth and creamy. I’ve never tried a gel formula lipstick before and now I need more. My lips tend to get dry pretty fast, and this kept them buttery smooth. Vasanti’s website describes this lipstick as a “velvety smooth formula…keeps lips hydrated…while still offering long lasting color and a true matte formula”.

The color is a great dark nude for a variety of skin tones, but for my medium tan or olive toned people, you need this color. This is definitely going to be a staple in my everyday makeup looks. It’s described as a “warm, taupe brown”, which I agree with. This one was $19.

Ultra Luxe Lipstick with Peptide Technology – Shade: Chad

This lipstick made my lips feel so hydrated and smooth! To be honest with you guys, I don’t really know much about “peptide technology”, but on their website, Vasanti states that this lipstick is ” formulated to plump, hydrate and smooth with the latest in peptide technology”. It definitely does that for me. They cited a clinical trial that showed improved lip volume, and reduced the appearance of fine lines within 28 days of use. If I notice any of that, I will definitely let you guys know.

The shade, Chad, is described as a “deep rich brown”, and it also has deep red tones in it. I really like colors like this for the fall! It glides on so smooth, and it has a healthy sheen to it, but not as much as a gloss. I will say, I needed at least two applications to get full-coverage, but that doesn’t bother me one bit. This was $17.

Overall, I’m happy with my purchase. I also purchased an eyeliner, but I’d rather test that one out for a bit before I review it. I hope you guys liked this post and follow me on Instagram @amandasushma to see more of my life.

Thanks for reading!
