Nostalgic Cartoons/Animes

Hello everyone!

My friend and I were discussing our favorite cartoons from our youth, and I wanted to share some of my favorites and see if any of you guys knew them as well!

In no particular order:

Static Shock – I loved Static Shock! First of all, a black super-hero teen, with dreads!?! You go early 2000s with that representation! I didn’t even think about him being the first black super hero I ever saw till now. I didn’t even know about Halle Berry’s Storm from X-Men at that time.

I’m going to be honest, I don’t know much about DC or Marvel comics. But, I did do a quick wiki search, and the show is based on the hero Static from the DC Universe, so maybe they’ll add him in? Unfortunately, it did end in 2004. But, I’m really glad I got to see it!

Yu-Gi-Oh! – If you didn’t watch Yu-Gi-Oh, how did you even d-d-d-d-d-duel?

I was obsessed with Yu-Gi-Oh, specifically Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters and Yu-Gi-Oh GX. Such good times. I definitely had a crush on Kaiba from Duel Monsters! Also, can we talk about how cool it was that this Japanese anime fused Egyptian gods into the mix?!

Also, I always wanted to be magician girl! One day!

Tokyo Mew Mew (in U.S – Mew Mew Power) – This was such a girl power, cutesy anime that I absolutely adored! I did watch it on 4Kids TV, so it was dubbed and most likely highly edited. I think I really liked this mostly because the outfits were really cute and I liked the characters.

Pokémon – Duh.

I only watched Season 1 (Indigo League) through Season 10 (Diamond and Pearl), plus some of the movies. That seems like a lot, but it’s really not compared to how many seasons there actually are. I did rewatch the early episodes that Netflix has, and Jesse and James are the ultimate comedians. They are too punny..I grew up wanting to be like Misty and May, ended up becoming salty and evil Jesse! Not mad about it though!

Inuyasha – So good! I’ve seen all of it and the movies! This one I discovered when I was a little older than the other shows I’ve mentioned.

I would watch Toonami, and I randomly stayed up one night to watch Adult Swim, and Inuyasha came on. Been obsessed ever since. Favorite character is definitely my lord and savior, Sesshomaru. Miroku is a close second though!

I love the world of Inuyasha, so many character arcs, the reincarnation of Kikyo to Kagome, and I loved the ending as well!

These are just a few of my favorites. I would say my ultimate favorite is Naruto, but I’m not including that because I still watch it over and over, so for me it’s like a regular show. What are some of your favorite nostalgic cartoons or animes?
