Review: Mad Hippie Cleansing Oil

Hello everyone,

I’ve been loving trying different makeup removers, especially cleansing oils. I haven’t used a makeup remover wipe in a long time! I decided to give the Mad Hippie Cleansing Oil a chance. I purchased it from Ulta for about $14.00.

I love the packaging and that it uses a pump. Makes it much easier and less messy.

The instructions are basically to use a generous amount of the oil on your face and rub it in for about a minute, then take a warm washcloth and put it on your face until it’s cooled down. After that, you can use the cloth to wipe away the makeup and oil.

My thoughts on this is that….this is way too much work. I just want to take my makeup off really fast, and this method takes forever. I tried using the oil and rubbing it, trying to break up my makeup, but it didn’t work. This product needs a wash cloth, which is actually really annoying because now there’s something I need to clean. We all know hard it is to remove foundation from anything.

Personally, I don’t like this product at all. It’s too difficult to use and I have to be a little abrasive with a towel to get all my makeup off. I prefer the Frank Body Anti-Makeup Oil because it immediately breaks up the makeup and I don’t need to use a towel at all.

Mad Hippie is a cruelty free brand and this product is vegan. It has really good ingredients, such as pumpkin seed oil, rosehip oil, ginger, etc. The product did not break me out and doesn’t have scent. Unfortunately, it doesn’t do the job well.

But, I will continue to use it until it’s done because I want to save the cute bottle. Let me know what you guys think? And if you have a favorite cleansing oil, let me know!
