My Newest Past Time: Watching Kylie Swim Reviews

Hello everyone,

I’m not sure if this is old news or not, but I still wanted to talk about it. My favorite videos to watch at the moment are reviews of Kylie Jenner’s swim line, officially Kylie Swim.

I’m neutral on the Kardashian-Jenner clan, but whether you’re a fan or not, we have to talk about these awful quality swimsuits. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, here are some of the Youtube reviews I watched…and let’s just say they were enough.

Anncy Twinkle (love her, her commentary is a little more adult than the others…just a warning) – https://youtu.be/EHf9o9K1dXs

Mia Maples – https://youtu.be/eJxLu4MDFrA

Life’s a Peach – https://youtu.be/mnHBaepu4F8

These are just a few, I’ve probably watched over 20 videos with the same issues coming up over and over. First of, what is the idea of releasing a swimsuit line in the fall? The official date the line was released was September 17th, 2021. I did try and research the thought process behind that but couldn’t find much besides the fact that obviously it’s not winter or fall for everyone in the world at the same time…but also, seems like if they could’ve waited for a spring release, they would’ve made a lot more money.

Anyway, I checked out the Kylie Swim website and here is a screen shot of what it looks like.

The most expensive item is the ‘Kylie’ one-piece for $85, which has adjustable straps and the sides cut out. In the screenshot, it’s the second from the right, on the top row. To be honest, I think it’s cute. But unfortunately, it’s see-through, at least according to every Youtube and Tiktok review. At first, I thought some people were just doing it because it’s almost like a “trend” to diss Kardashian products, but no. The video evidence is there and shows the cheap, see-through quality of these swimsuits.

If you didn’t watch any video reviews, the crotch part of the bikinis and swimsuits….let’s just say it is thinnn. I believe it was Mia Maples, she compared the Kylie Swim bikini bottom to one of her favorite bikini bottoms from Walmart, and the Walmart one was about two or three inches wider. It’s crazy, I mean if you’re comfortable wearing that, that’s fine, but that’s not a common fit for the crotch area. I know when I wear a bikini, I do get self-conscious sometimes and would absolutely hate if I paid $85.00 for a one-piece and received a dental-floss crotch area. And I know some people don’t care about that, it is a personal preference, but it seems like a common complaint amongst the people who reviewed them.

I don’t want to make this excessively long, because it’s already too long, but I just don’t get why a billionaire and her team are putting out these low-quality products. The styles of the swimwear were actually very cute and had a cute sunset theme. But, the super thin quality, no padding, 5 cm crotch area, loose threads, etc., are all huge issues that should have been handled in production.

I’m not really the main target group for her line, but I did have empathy for the people who spent hundreds and hundreds on her products and received…well really bad quality. The only item that seemed to have good reviews consistently was the sarongs.

What are your thoughts on this? I’ve just been obsessed with these reviews. Of course, whenever a celebrity puts out a collection of anything, there will always be criticism, but if it’s a decent product, it’s usually just people who don’t personally like the celeb giving criticism…but, this collection had such overwhelmingly bad reviews from her fans and people who aren’t her fans. I also want to talk about her Kylie Skin line, but that rant is for a another day. Let me know your thoughts on this! Thanks so much for checking my post out!
