If you read the title, you would know I am feeling betrayed by aerosol dry shampoos. . I loved the Batiste dark brown dry shampoo so much, I used it for years, and even made a video about it.
Alas, it was not meant to be. I saw a girl on TikTok claim Batiste Dry Shampoo was making her hair fall out. I started to wonder if it was affecting me too, because I normally had tons of hair fall out all the time, like every time I tried to run my hands through my hair, I would get a ton of loose strands. I just thought it was the normal amount of hair shedding.
But after seeing that TikTok, I decided to try and not use the Batiste Dry Shampoo specifically for about a week. Lo and behold, my hair stopped shedding like crazy. It did shed, but wayyy less and it felt softer and less…grimy and tangled.
I am so sad, but I have to say good-bye to the brand Batiste and honestly all aerosol dry shampoos. I’ve been using it for years…now I’m more sad thinking about all the hair I could’ve saved 😭
My hair type gets oily so fast, so I need to keep using products like dry shampoo, so I did some research. Apparently, the best and safest form of dry shampoo is the powder type. I found a brand called Primally Pure Skincare and they make a non-toxic dry shampoo powder. I just ordered it and will be doing a “first impressions” on TikTok and my Instagram once received, so follow me on both at AmandaSushma. I’m really excited to try it, because I decided to just let my hair do it’s thing until the order gets here…and let’s just say I’ll be doing slicked back looks…don’t even need gel with how oily my hair is…You can also use alternatives like corn starch. The one I just bought has cocoa powder as one of the ingredients to blend with dark hair.
This is my farewell to aerosol dry shampoos. I loved you and thought you had my back, but you just stabbed me and made me lose my precious strands 😫
