Quick and Easy Summer Eye Tutorial Ft. Toofaced Sweet Peach Palette

Hello my lovelies!

Today, I wanted to share a quick and easy summery eye look. This has been my go-to look eye look when I’m in a rush. I am using shadows from the Toofaced Sweet Peach Palette, but feel free to use similar colors and customize the look.

I used the Candied Peach shadow (middle row, third from the left), all over my lids. Then, I just added some depth to my outer-V with Summer Yum, (bottom row, second from the right). I blended them out and added more eye shadow as needed. I love how these two colors look together. They really give that perfect summer look that’s been trending right now. The effortless looking pink/orange shadows are really in. It doesn’t take long at all to do and I feel like this super easy look can look great on a range of skin tones. Also, if you have the Sweet Peach palette, the shadows smell amazing.

I add a lighter color to my brow bone, such as Georgia to give a little highlight in that area. I like to add a wing and mascara to finish off the look.

I hope you guys enjoyed and let me know if you like this look! Also, follow me on Instagram @amandasushma to see more looks. Thanks for reading!

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette: First Impression

Hello everyone!

Hope you’re enjoying the week so far. I wanted to share my first impression of the TooFaced Sweet Peach Palette.

If you want to actually see it, my video review is below.

First of all, I love the packaging. It’s a pretty pink/peachy ombrè color and has a cute peach logo. One of the best parts of the palette is the fact that it is a magnetic open/close. No need to pry it open and break your nails, so easy to open!

Another great aspect of the palette, is the SMELL. I know, I know, if you’ve been reading reviews on this, it’s all anyone’s talking about. But let me tell you guys, it is amazing. Now, I haven’t had a peach in a long time, but if they smell like the palette, I’m definitely going to be eating some.

So far, I’ve only used the peach colors and the matte two shades at the lower right. The peach colors show up well on my eyelids, but the other ones I have to work with a little bit more. I have dark eyelids, so I usually use a white base to make colors pop, so I think that’s the problem. Other than that, the colors are great! I think you get a great variety of bright shades, transitions, mattes, and shimmers. The mattes are highly pigmented and a little goes a long way. I do find myself dipping in the shimmery colors a couple times, just so I can get them to pop a little more.

The only complaint I really have is the price tag. I think I spent about $50 from Ulta. Yup. I know. It has a crazy price tag, but I don’t really have any high-end palettes, and I really liked the variety of colors (also the smell), and swallowed my guilt and purchased it.

That’s about it for my first impression of this palette. I’d love to know what you guys think! Thank you so much for reading!

Gold and Shimmery Full-Faced Tutorial (Video)

Hello lovelies!

Today I finally have a beauty post for all of you! I know I’ve been doing a lot of the daily prompts, but those really help get my thoughts out and I hope that you guys don’t mind too much.

But today is a beauty day! I created this gold and shimmery eye look, using a mixture of NYX’s Natural pallete and their Dubai palette. It’s a full-face tutorial, using the Clinique Foundation and Concealer foundation, which I will definitely be doing a separate post on.

Thank you so much for reading and feel free to leave any comments!

NYX Wanderlust Dubai Palette

Hello everyone!

So around early December, I saw the NYX Wanderlust Lip and Eye Collections in Ulta, for about $10. The palettes are centered about the NYX Soft Matte Creams. I saw all of the ones named after cities, like Dubai, London, Stockholm, etc. I fell in love with the Dubai palette and had to buy it.

The eyeshadows are all great and pigmented. The purple at the top, the two below, the brown shade on the third row, and the orangy/burgundy shade at the bottom are all shimmery. The others are more of a matte finish. I like the variety of colors and that they kept the basic colors matte.

I absolutely love the Soft Matte Cream in Dubai. It’s the perfect brown shade for me. I used it in the video below.

Here’s a gold look I created on my youtube channel with this palette:

I hope you guys enjoyed! Feel free to leave any questions or comments!

Review: Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Concealer

Hello everyone!

Today, I wanted to share my new holy grail concealer. Before, I was using the Tarte Maracuja Concealer, but it didn’t work too well with my oily skin. Then, I used the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer, which I like, but it made my fine lines look really bad. It also exemplified the tiny pore-like bumps we have on our under eye area, which caused my concealer to look super cakey. So I had to find something for oily skin, but dry under-eyes. After lots of research with reviews and videos, I came across the Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Concealer and I absolutely love it!

Boi-ing Shade 02

The packaging describes it as an “industrial-strength concealer”, which is referring to the fact that it’s full coverage. I used this primarily for my dark under-eye circles, and occasionally on breakouts/dark spots. My under-eyes are dry, and this concealer is perfect because it conceals without showing how dry my under-eye area is. I have olive/medium skin, and I use the shade 2, which is light-medium. It would be too light as an everday blemish concealer, but for my under-eyes it’s perfect and as long as I blend it out well on my blemishes, you can’t tell the color difference. It also says you just need to use your finger to apply it. I know that many people find that unsanitary, but I like it. I make sure my hands are clean, don’t worry! But, a small concealer brush would work too! It’s a very matte concealer, but has a unique texture so it doesn’t dry your under-eyes out. I’m also a huge fan of the packaging! It’s super small and circular, which is perfect for my handbag and traveling. The package holds .1 oz of the product, which doesn’t seem like much, but it’s definitely enough. I usually need just three thin swipes with my finger and I’m done, and trust me, my dark eye circles are no joke.

After four hours, I usually check up on it because sometimes it settles into one specific line under my eye. I don’t know if that line is just deep or what, but it’s always the same eye/line that the product settles into. My other eye is perfectly fine and normal, so it’s not a big deal for me. Also, I bought mine from Sephora for $20, which is pricey for such a small amount of product, but I feel like this is going to last me a long time. But, whenever it does finish, I definitively will be repurchasing.

Hope you guys liked this review! Let me know if you’ve tried it!

Review: Benefit “They’re Real” Mascara

Hello everyone!

There’s been a lot of hype about the Benefit “They’re Real” Mascara, and I wanted to see if it lived up to it. I was waiting in line at Ulta and saw the sample sized version for about $12. I figured, why not?

I was expecting a lot out of this because of other reviews I’ve seen and honestly, I don’t like it. Don’t get me wrong, it does it’s job. It makes my lashes look thicker and longer, but I’m just not a fan of the formula. It’s too thick for me, and is very difficult to remove. I don’t like being harsh on my lashes and I can’t take the mascara off without losing a couple lashes. A lot of people like it for the thickness and since it’s hard to remove, it lasts a long time.

Benefit They're Real

Personally, I prefer the Clinique High Impact Mascara. It give me thick, natural looking lashes, and is easy to remove. The “They’re Real” mascara, gives my the clumpy, spiky look. I hate that look on me. I even tried to de-clump with a lash comb, but even that couldn’t help. If you like that type of look, this is definitely for you!

Overall, I’m not in love with this mascara. In my opinion, there are many drugstore mascaras that can do what this does much better and they cost way less (the regular size is $24!). I hope you guys enjoyed this review!

Hide Your Dark Circles with Lipstick

Hello everyone!

Today, I wanted to share a handy, little trick that I learned to hide under eye circles. I actually learned this method from Deepica Mutyala, but I changed the products she used to make it a bit more affordable. The idea is using a lipstick as a correcter. I choose the bright red Chaos by NYX, which was only about $4! Can’t go wrong with that.

NYX: Chaos

I prefer to do this after I put on my foundation, but feel free to do it before. All I do it take my pinky finger and tap on some of the Chaos on my dark circles. Also, I add some to the outer corner of my eyes because those are also very dark. I rub it out lightly, just to get it to not be too bright. You want a “haven’t slept in days/kinda dead” look, rather than a “by mistake I applied bright red lipstick to my eyes” look. Know what a mean? If not, here’s a picture.

Under Eye: Lipstick CorrecterBasically, just look like a tired zombie…

After that, I just add my concealer all over it. I use the Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer. I prefer to tap it on with my finger. If you use a brush, pat the concealer in lightly, don’t drag the brush or else you’ll move your concealer and the red lipstick.

Correcter Lipstick

This bright red color is better for medium/olive skin tones close to mine. If you want to see which color is for you, check out this correcter site. For whatever color it says cancels out your dark circles/blemishes, just get a lipstick. You can use it as a double duty makeup weapon: correcter and lipstick!

L’oreal: Eye Shadow Quad in Good Luck Charm

I’m not usually a fan of eye shadow quads, but when I saw the rose gold/pink color in this quad, I had to try it out! This is the L’oreal Paris Colour Riche in Good Luck Charm (103).

The colors are really nice! My only problem is that they’re very loose and powdery. As you can see in the picture above, the shadow powder is all around on the case. My favorite colors in this quad are the top pink/rose gold shadow and the highlight at the bottom. The middle two browns didn’t show up too well on me because my skin is too dark. But after a bit of blending I managed to get a nice rose gold look. Guys, I’ve been obsessed with rose gold! It’s so pretty!

I used my Clinique Superprimer in the shade Universal Face Primer (I know weird name), and the shadow stayed on without creasing for about four hours. Pretty good for a cheap drugstore quad, it was about $8 at Ulta. I also added a wing with my Wet N Wild Liquid Mega Liner, and just added some of the dark brown shadow to soften it up.

Let me know what you guys think!
