OOTD + Chat about Charleston

Hello everyone!

I hope you guys had a great Labor Day weekend. I went to Charleston, South Carolina for the weekend and it was amazing. Have any of you guys been there? It’s a really cute beach town in the south. My friend and I visited the Boone Plantation, where part of The Notebook was filmed and where Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds had their wedding. It’s so beautiful. Lots of history!

It was a hot and humid day, so I wore a light dress. It was a maxi dress, it was sheer with a short slip underneath. I purchased it from the Abercrombie and Fitch outlets from the clearance section for $25. Such a great deal!

The entire plantation was littered with Spanish moss and I became obsessed. It’s so gorgeous!

This is the main house, so pretty! Recognize it from The Notebook?

Not only did we tour the plantation, we went to a couple delicious restaurants. My favorite one was Magnolia’s. Check out that Charleston Crab Cake dish below. It was delicious, the okra was so tasty too! It is a little pricey, but worth it!

Another place we went to twice, was Page’s Okra Grill. I got the flounder entree and the second time I got their signature fried chicken. It was absolutely delicious! I’m definitely going back next time! The prices were decent and you get a lot of food, enough for leftovers!

We also explored the downtown area, which was beautiful! Check out my instagram for some neighborhood pics! I wore another Abercrombie and Fitch Outlet clearance dress for this outing as well. What can I say, I have a type of dress? It is a beautiful off white see-through maxi dress, with slits on the side and a slip underneath. I felt like a fancy beach gal.

That’s about it for my fun filled holiday weekend! Just looking at those food pictures is making me hungry! Thanks for reading!

Eye Buy Direct Review

Hello everyone!

I am a person who tends to wear contacts every single day. For anyone who can relate, I’m sure you’ve heard your optometrist say “you should give your eyes some breathing time, and wear your glasses once a week”. Now listen, I think we all know how much glasses with prescriptions from our doctor’s office or places like LensCrafters can cost. Usually in the three-digit range, even with insurance.

I wanted to find a different, more affordable option. That’s when I found the company Eye Buy Direct. I remember telling a cashier at Forever 21 I liked her glasses, and she had mentioned them. I’m so glad I took a chance and checked out their website! And no, I’m not sponsored or anything. I bought these myself and this is my honest review.

The website it pretty easy to navigate and is has an easy layout to work with. You can filter out many things such as the color, price, shape of the frames, and the size. My favorite feature is that you can “try on” the glasses by uploading a picture of yourself. It gives a preview of what you will look like with those frames, and I found it to be a decent estimation.

After hours of searching and reading reviews, I decided to purchase the Hepburn frames in the color Ivory Tortoise. I added my prescription, anti-glare, UV protection, and a brown case for and extra five dollars.

They arrived right when they were supposed to and came in the super chic and minimal black box. The case I purchased is brown leather (definitely faux), but it looks so classy and simple.

The glasses themselves were exactly as pictured. They sit well on my face, but the company also sends an adjustment tool with your package, so you can adjust it if necessary. Also, quick tip, you can go into any LensCrafter’s and get your glasses adjusted for free.

I love the style of these glasses. The ivory tortoise design is professional, yet fashionable, adding a nice touch. It’s perfect for work, but can also go with casual looks. Before these, my other glasses were a tiny rectangle shape, with an all black frame. I didn’t like it and only wore it at home. I’ve definitely been wearing my new glasses out and about, and have gotten a lot of compliments on them.

So, price-wise, these are amazing. The frames were $40 and with all of the things I added, the total came to $62.95. But, EyeBuyDirect seems to have a lot of deals and have a lot of social media promoters. I checked their Instagram and saw that on their story, they showed someone’s promotion link with a code. I used the code and got $15 off my purchase. I chose regular shipping which was $5.95, so my overall total was $53.16. That is a great price compared to the typical retail glass-wear stores.

They have a lot of different style options, with varying prices. Most of the ones I saw were from $22-$70. I think it has something for everyone, they also have sunglasses as well.

Let me know what you guys thinks and if you have a favorite place to purchase your glasses! Thanks so much for reading! Follow me on Instagram and Twitter at AmandaSushma. Also, check out my video review on these glasses here.

College: What They Tell You Vs. Reality

Hey guys!

I wanted to share a little video with you guys! It’s about all the stuff colleges tell you and what you actually end up doing. Come on, there’s a reason the majority of college students have tons of microwaveable food! And let’s face it, netflix all day! Hope you guys enjoyed!

Thanks for watching!

Relax + Pamper Yourself

Hello there lovelies!

I hope you’re having a really nice and relaxing Sunday. Sunday is the day most of us have off from our everyday lives and jobs, so don’t waste it! Pamper yourself ladies and gents. It really helps you get prepared to face the new week. I wanted to share some tips, just in case you weren’t sure exactly how to go about pampering yourself!

1. Wear your favorite Pj’s. Listen guys. There’s honestly nothing more comfortable than your pj’s!

14209430188462. Facial Masque

Put on your favorite masque! Nothing more relaxing than knowing your face is nice and clean. I have on the Freeman Feeling Beautiful: Avocado & Oatmeal Masque.

3. Grab a drink and a book

Whether it’s wine, water, beer, or in my case, tea, get your favorite drink and  your favorite book. Nothing better than sipping and reading. And honestly, how many of you actually have time to read your favorite book during the week?

4. Movie/TV Show

If you’re not into books, there’s always the wonderful world of movies/tv shows. Catch up on your favorite shows, or watch a movie you’ve been wanting to see. Thanks to Netflix, we can all do it in the wonderful comfort of our warms beds. I’m watching El Dorado! Loved that movie as a kid! And as an adult…hehe

5. Nose strip.

That amazing moment when you pull that strip off and see all the disgusting things that were on your nose is just tantalizing. No better way to start the week than with clean pores. I use the Biore pore strips.

6. Sleep.

Grab your 8-hour beauty sleep when you can! Monday you’ll be ready to go.

That’s it folks! I hope this brightens up your Sunday! Let me know if you do any other fun stuff to pamper/relax!
