Review: Pacifica’s Vegan Ceramide Barrier Face Cream

Hello everyone!

I wanted to share my thoughts on Pacifica’s Vegan Ceramide Barrier Face Cream. I purchased this from Ulta for $18.

If you’re not sure what a ceramide cream is for, definitely check out my post on the Holika Holika Ceramide cream, where I described it a little more. But, basically it helps repair and replenish your skin barrier.

This product is not for me. I started using it and my checks started becoming red. I didn’t really connect it to this product, I just thought it was exposure to the sun. I even thought it was rosacea, which maybe I do have and this product caused it to flare up. I’m not sure if I have rosacea or not, but though my cheeks sometimes have a red hue, they’ve never been consistently super red. Also, under my eye area was also red, which was what alerted me that this wasn’t just normal redness.

I realized I started the Pacifica Ceramide Cream around when this reaction started and stopped using it. It was the only new product that went on both my face and eye area.

Below are photos of my skin two days after I stopped using it. I should’ve taken some during, but I was freaking out and taking photos didn’t even cross my mind. But, you can still see some redness in my skin. There’s redness by my eyes, then my normal skin tone on my cheekbone area, then lots of redness on my cheeks.

It’s definitely calmed down over the last few days, which has confirmed to me that it was this product that caused the issue. Now, this reaction is most likely because there’s some ingredient that just doesn’t agree with my skin and gives it a reaction, not sure if it’s an allergic reaction or my skin is sensitive to it.

Either way, I know not everyone’s skin will react the same way. So, besides the skin issue, another reason I would not repurchase this is because it does not leave me feeling moisturized.

If you saw my Holika Holika review, I didn’t have a reaction to that, but it also left me feeling not moisturized. This Pacifica one left my skin feeling drier, so I actually prefer the Holika Holika ceramide cream to this one.

It’s unfortunate this product didn’t work for me because the packaging is just so cute! The product itself is a white, thick cream. It’s super thick, as most ceramide creams will be.

That was my experience on the product, I’ll give it a 2/5. Packaging is cute, but I didn’t experience any benefits from this product, had a bad skin reaction, and it is quite pricey for Pacifica. I am happy I gave it a shot though because I did have my eye on it for a long time.

Let me know if you guys have tried this product and what you think!
